Tree Top Toddlers For Schools

Find out more about our award winning programme:

Tree Top Toddlers boast huge benefits through integrating our programme into your nursery. The sports through stories programme has been engineered with the key objective to help nurseries achieve higher Ofsted and EYFS ratings. Tree Top Toddlers strives to help improve:

• Ofsted Rating
• Children’s physical and cognitive development,
• Active minutes,
• Core strength,
• Gross and fine motor skills,
• Brain Development

Introducing sport to children at a young age has many benefits to their health and sporting abilities later on in life. Children should accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. Physical activity should include a variety of activities. Strengthening physical activities should be included at least three days of the week, as they help to build muscle and strong bones.

Story time with a difference:

Tree Top Toddlers provides story time with a difference. The children follow Alfie, the gorilla through his adventure stories, helping him along the way by doing sporting actions before turning each page. Children learn best when they are having fun and children between 2 - 6 years old have the most fun during story time. Our books are designed to be read and enjoyed but with core sporting actions at the heart of the experience. Through the programme children are able to learn the fundamental sporting skills. Below are the building blocks of the programme:

• Physical and Cognitive Development,
• Bilateral Coordination,
• Colours,
• Numbers,
• Spatial Awareness,
• Hand and Foot-eye Coordination,
• Social Skills,
• Teamwork,
• Confidence and Self Esteem,
• Problem Solving.

There are 2 songs that can be played before the lessons to get the children warmed up. The lessons can be run multiple times in a week. There are guidance videos for every story to guide your team through the lesson plans. They contain progressions and activities for different weeks in the month, as well as teaching points for your staff to teach the actions more effectively. On the reverse side of every page in the books there are tutor notes, highlighting what is being worked on and notes on how to set up and run the activities.

The programme is a licence so that we can retain a relationship with the nurseries we work with. The licence fee is £450 and the monthly subscription is £48 per month for a 2 year period. At the end of the 2 years we will have new stories and lessons.

A resource that goes beyond sport and helps with a multitude of Ofsted criteria:

Our lessons plans have all been created to fulfil Ofsted and EYFS criteria.

Inevitably children learn the most effectively when they are having fun. Tree Top Toddlers story time provides the fun environment; whilst helping Alfie, the gorilla, through his adventures provides vast early years benefits. The Tree Top Toddlers programme’s motor development begins with body awareness and control. The importance of developing children’s sense of body awareness is crucial to their enjoyment and success with the activities as they progress through the stories. The coordination of body parts is fundamental for brain growth.

The movement and music in the programme provides the framework of experiences for children to stimulate brain development and growth. The physical activities and strong multi-sensory experiences, though the stories, form brain connections that will help prepare children for formal learning at school. The positional language and experiences through language in the stories are designed in a multi-sensory way, so that the children will be associating the words with the movements they are performing. The association with words and actions combined with tracking the balls and performing actions around other children builds visual strength and help develop peripheral vision. As the children progress through the stories the benefits continue and are evident throughout the actions. The children are encouraged to work as teams to complete activities, building social confidence and positive relationships.

Innovative award winning programme:

Tree Top Toddlers can help you increase your membership and introduce a new programme to your gym. Our programme enables you to run a session for the toddlers while the parents can enjoy their classes or freely use the gym. There are many more benefits to why signing up to Tree top toddlers is a good idea:

Many gyms run ‘legs, bums and tums,’ spin classes and other programmes designed to get adults into the gym. The Tree Top Toddlers programme creates the opportunity to market your classes to parents with young children who find it difficult to make time for the gym. The Tree Top Toddlers programme can be run alongside an existing gym session to maximise programme output without needing a crèche facility. Bringing parent and children activities together will boost the amount of time people can spend at the gym and also widen your target audience to parents with toddlers. Marketing to families passes on the love of the gym to parents reinforcing the sporting behaviour from parents to create positive experiences at the gym. This will lead to children viewing gyms in a positive way as they grow older, they will therefore be more likely to become members later in life. Child obesity rates are at an all-time high, introducing the Tree Top Toddlers lessons will help tackle the issue as well as bringing parents into the gym to train in a family bases time slot. Introducing a family membership or charging per participant will open a new revenue stream for your gym as well as maximising client sending. We have found that the family style sports sessions will lead onto social time after the lessons. Having a café or even just refreshments available will see higher levels of enjoyment of the whole experience and an increased turnover from the session.

Tree Top Toddlers can help you increase your membership and introduce a new programme to your gym. Our programme enables you to run a session for the toddlers while the parents can enjoy their classes or freely use the gym. There are many more benefits to why signing up to Tree top toddlers is a good idea:

• Setting up an internal crèche or nursery for the children whilst parents use your facilities can be expensive; using our programme you can entertain the children for up to an hour. With the parents knowing their children are having a great time, they can get on and enjoy the gym facilities.
• The sessions can be run as many times as you like a week.
• If you run one session a week with 10 children in the session will break even in the second month. The programme can become very profitable for your organisation
• This market segment is huge; there are many parents who return to exercise once their children are old enough to go to school. Using our programme this enables you to target the parents early and involve their toddles.
• Increased café sales through parents enjoying a coffee together after the session.
• Potential new members from parents who hear about the new toddlers group.

There are a few requirements you will have to put in place to run the sessions:

• Adequate amount of staff on site. The session will need either one or two members of staff running the sessions. We recommend one member of staff for 10 and under and two members of staff for over 10 children.
• The staff running the sessions must be DBS checked and certificated in safe guarding.
• A separate studio/hall will be needed, for example the group cannot run alongside spinning.
• We recommend that you run the session for 40 minutes. Linking the programme alongside a gym that can last the same length of time would be ideal and a massive selling point to the parents.

We recommend that you have one of your professionals run the lesson, as they should already be DBS checked, safe guarded qualified and first aid trained.
